vertical lines/touch screen inop

After replacing the battery, which went very well. I reattached the screen, when I powered it up I had vertical lines and one row of white squares (horizontally) across the screen. When I tried the touch ID it wouldn’t work but the screen changed and asked for my password, but the touch screen won’t do anything when I touch it. I have taken it back apart 4-5 times making sure all the connectors are snapped in place, but all it has done is gotten worse, with no picture being displayed just the lines and squares. Do I need to try replacing the LCD?

Try putting back your original screen. This will help you isolate if the problem is with the replacement screen or if you accidentally damaged the logic board.

Thanks, but I only replaced the battery, the screen is the original.

It sounds like you accidentally damaged the screen’s connecting ribbon which would damage areas of the display and the touch layer.

I don’t know what phone you are working on but I have done the same thing on other phones, this connection can be super delicate.

Oh I see now that it is an iPhone5S (I thought that phone on the side was just generic advertising).
