Why is my phone stuck on Searching/No Service?

Yesterday I dropped my phone in water, and I immediately shut it off. I opened it up and dried everything. I turned it on and everything BUT the SIM was working, it had No Service. I then found iPhone thinks there is a sim, when there isn't? and read finster’s comment, number 2 seemed to do the trick. However, today I tried putting another SIM in to see if it would work, and it didn’t. However, now it’s can’t recognize whether a SIM is in the slot or not. I tried finster’s suggestion 2 again but it still doesn’t recognize it. Now it also says it can’t update carrier settings because the other SIM uses another carrier. It says “Cellular Update Failed” Any suggestions? Could this be solved with an antenna replacement? Answers are appreictated!

Take it to a reputable phone repair shop for liquid damage evaluation (preferably one that does board-level repairs / microsoldering), the quicker the better to get the phone working properly again from liquid damage.

Do you have any suspicions as to where the issue is located?

It also says "Cellular Update Failed"

Sounds like a board level issue as you get carrier update failed. To get that fixed yeah you'll need to take it to someone that does board repair for iPhones.
