MacBook Pro screen not powering on

My MacBook Pro powers on and charges and works perfectly except the screen does not power on. When I got the MacBook the display powered on and booted to the Apple Logo but then cut off.

If needed I will post pictures of the Logic Board.

UPDATE:

The keyboard backlight is working and i’m at the desktop, it looks like the screen backlight is the only problem because when I use the flashlight I can see the desktop.

I also have a second monitor connected to it and it is mirroring the desktop.

Update (08/05/2018)

Where is the LED driver on the logic board?

Does an external display work? Give that a try.

Sounds like your computer’s dedicated graphics have failed, an issue that is incredibly common with the 2011 15” and 17” MacBook Pros. There is no permanent fix for this besides getting a new computer, however there are some software solutions that can disable the dedicated graphics card, although they are not perfect. Apple had a repair program for these at one point, but that ended over a year ago. The most budget friendly reliable solution would be to get a 15” 2012 non retina MacBook Pro and stick your hard drive in it, or if you are up to it, sticking a 2012 motherboard in yours.

Joey, You may have a burnt fuse or the LED driver is gone. Both can be easily fixedly someone who has micro soldering skills and access to the needed parts.

LP8550 U9701 which is a 25 bump micro chip

It’s located just below the fan

You’ll need a proper rework station with a small nozzle to do this correctly.
