Home button not working after opening the device

I bought this iPhone with a replaced screen. Today I opened the phone to glue one side of the screen so it wouldn’t move anymore. However, after I put all things back together the home button stopped working. Where could the problem be? Can it be the screen itself and the flex it has or somewhere else? I don’t think anything broke...

The iPhone 7 screen assemblies come with two cables.

One for the screen and the other which is used to plug to the home button.

Chances are the flex cable for the home button (on the screen, not the button part) has been damaged meaning you would need to replace the screen to fix this problem.

This is a common mistake that first time repairers do when lifting up the screen on the iPhone 7 as the screen cables are at the bottom left and not at the top like previous generations.

If you would like you could disassemble the screen and check the screen cable after removing the back metal plate from the screen using the guide.
