Side by side Freezer is not cold enough to freeze.
I have a Kenmore side-by-side model 596.58642891. The freezer gets cold but not enough to freeze anything. The fridge side is cold, but not as cold as it use to be. Ice slowly melted in the freezer.
I checked the compressor and the fan in the back and they both were running. The compressor was warm to the touch. I cleaned the vent in the back. The fan in the freezer was running. I did not feel any cold her coming out around the door. I replaced the defrost thermostat and timer.
When taking off the back panel I did have some ice but only by the thermostat. I unplugged the fridge and used a hairdryer to defrost it, but it was frosted up again. The coils didn't really have ice on them and I cleaned them with a wirebrush. I attached two pictures to show what I am talking about.
What should be the next thing I do to get my freezer, freezing again? Is it a freon issue, or an issue with circulation?
Is dit een goede vraag?
