Can a new LCD and digitizer fix this?

I was wondering is this iPad Air 2 could be fixed after sustaining this amount of damage? See pictures. The glass was all broken up, the top right corner especially. LCD and glass have been removed. I’m not clear on what’s under the shield in the top right corner of the iPad but since the WIFI version doesn’t seem to have it, I believe it has something to do with the cellular signal (which isn’t needed). Since the LCD/glass is around $200, I wouldn’t mind getting some input/expertise on whether I should even bother with it. Thanks!

do you get any kind of responce from the screen at all . flicker or change of light when it powers on . any chimes or sound when powering on that would indicate sign of life?

@Jimfixer yes. I could tell the screen recieved power and could make out the white cord suggesting to plug it in (dead battery). I didn’t hear any chimes though.

mikeniss the issue that I see with it will be the digitizer. I just finished trying to replace one on a damaged case and broke the replacement twice. If the bend is to much then the digitizer will not conform and it will be under to much tension. I ended up replacing the housing from an iCloud locked one. You can and should of course try but just be extremely careful when changing the digitizer.

It is difficult to evaluate if there are damaged components under the EMI shield, so you might consider removing the shield and evaluate it then or take a chance and leave it.

Thanks for the heads up!! I’ll prolly try to bend the case back as good as I can before installing the replacement

I replaced the screen and had to restore in DFU mode to get rid of some screen problems but I’m still dealing with some sensitivity issues. I’m pretty sure the screen may be defective because ribbons aren’t pinched and shields are in place, but I’m getting high and low sensitivity when using the iPad. Screen is not adhered yet
