Speaker not working on handsfree

Other person can’t hear me while I’m using the speaker

When talking on my iPhone 6 on speaker the other party can’t hear me.

I’m told I sound like I’m in the other room, not half a meter away from the phone.

Talking up close to the phone in normal non speaker mode works just fine.

I do a lot of driving and rely on using my phone hands free whilst driving.

I’ve just had the screen professionally replaced (as needed it that day) and there is no water damage.

I’ve done a hard reset

It has the latest IOS update.

Happy to replace any microphone if I can confirm with someone which microphone and what exact part to order.

Any ideas please?

The issue is most likely the repair shop did not align the front camera microphone behind top of the screen (located at the earpiece speaker grill) correctly.

Or

Forgot to remove the protective film cover that is used for the adhesive on the front camera microphone.

I recommend taking it back to the repair shop you got it fixed from, it sounds like a minor issue that can be fixed on the spot.

The issue was ongoing prior to the screen replacement. What uld that change any of your response at all?

My partner has pulled apart IPhone 5s and prior, is there any other special equipment I will need to open up an iphone6?

If your partner has opened an iPhone 5s, they can open the iPhone 6 no problem, in fact it's probably easier than the 5s as there is no hidden home button cable to unplug right after lifting up the screen.

I forgot to say it's probably just a clogged up top earpiece speaker filter, the black part at the top of the screen which can be cleaned using 99% isopropyl alcohol brushing or cotton swabs carefully after the front camera assembly is removed.
