Hi Oliver,

I have the same problem with my MacBook 13” 2017 since day one.

Do you have any news?

Hi. I have also had this (and several other problems) with my MacBook Pro 2017. Since I was still in the warranty year, I could take it to Apple and they downgraded the system to the "normal" Sierra, since apparently it is a problem with the High Sierra. Since then I did not have this issue once again, but several others, to the point that they gave me a whole new computer, which still has the same problems the last one had, including this one! I will complain once again and see what happens.

Best regards

Same problem here, and no fix by apple, it's pathetic. I wanted to sell my 2017 MacBook pro and this happen while the buyer was checking it, no sell as you can guess.

My first and last apple product. Pathetic company with crappy products.

If you are talking about having to log back in and the background being fuzzy, this is normal on later operating systems.

Otherwise I’d take it in while still covered under warranty. I also take out extended AppleCare on any Apple product I encounter a problem with during the first year.

it looks like your video card may be going bad .On the older macbooks ive seen, that is how it looks. Try using a fan under your machine or cleaning out any dust with canned air. That may not fix it but slow it down enough. Good luck mate

Happy Fixing!!

The computer is pretty new, and it have done it pretty much since day one.. So I don't think the video card is going bad.

I'd suggest reset SMC and NVRAM. If it doesn't help, reinstall macOS.

This is a mechanical click made by screen chassis when laptop gets warmed or cooled during normal operation. You can sometimes enforce that click by slightly pulling on the “MacBook Pro” label on the bottom of the screen.

I believe this is nothing serious. Sometimes annoying — yes.

Please let me know if anyone has a solution to this or knows what I need to fix. I have this problem but it does not go away.

Mid 2012 MacBook Pro 13” non retina

Screen will completely turn snowy static and will not come back. If I leave it and not touch anything the system will reboot.

I’ve reset PRAM, SMC, repaired disk in Disk Utility, opened up the back and checked the RAM, pulled out the harddrive and booted from an external enclosure through USB but it still will “crash and freeze”

i thought at first it was the harddrive cable as i’ve had to replace that before. Could this be a display cable issue? Or logic board/graphics card?

Thank you and please help if anyone knows a fix other than replacing the logic board.
