Replace screen AND keep TOUCH ID functionality working?

I have to replace the screen for IPHONE 6 PLUS. Can you show me exactly what I need to buy from ifixit.com?

Note: I already have all the tools, I just need the necessary parts.

Is it possible to replace the screen AND keep functionality of TOUCH ID working? So many places I read about this issue and they always says "careful, you may loose functionality of TOUCH ID forever".

QUESTION #1; I need details on this matter please. How exactly do I make sure I keep TOUCH ID working?

The item says this on description:

Note: The Touch ID function will only work with your phone's original home button assembly. This replacement part does not include the home button. You will need to transfer the button assembly from your old display to retain Touch ID.

QUESTION #2: Does that mean I MUST take off the "home button" from my current screen, and then move this "home button" on to the NEW SCREEN that I purchase?

QUESTION #3: Is it REALLY TRUE that if I use a "NEW HOME BUTTON", my TOUCH ID functionality will be LOST FOREVER, and I will NEVER be able to use TOUCH ID on this phone again?

DO I need this:

#1

iPhone 6 Plus LCD Screen and Digitizer Full Assembly

Item code: IF269-000-1

price: $69.99

What about this:

#2

iPhone 6 Plus LCD Screen and Digitizer

Item code: IF269-001-1

Price: $79.99

What exactly is the difference between #1 and #2? They seem to me to be EXACTLY the same, maybe ifixit.com just made a mistake and listed the same item twice with 2 different prices?

Hi Jen,

Yes, it is possible to replace the screen and keep TouchID functionality. As you figured out, it requires transferring your old Home button. Read through this guide carefully.

Answer #2:

You are correct. You must remove the existing touchID and transfer it to the new one. Look over these steps to see how to remove and transfer your Home Button.

You may want to consider buying a gasket while you're at it.

Answer #3:

Yes. Your current Home button is encoded to your phone's board for security purposes. If you replace it with a different Home button, the button will still work but TouchID will not.

Parts:

As for the two parts you listed, I would suggest you get the first option as it includes the 2nd option + tools + some parts you wouldn't have to salvage from the old display, all for a cheaper price (for now).

Feel free to ask if you have more questions!
