Lightning connector/loudspeaker fix gone wrong

So I went to replace the loudspeaker and lightning connector/headphone jack and everything was going really well and then it wouldn't turn back on. No screws were left out, put back in the wrong spot, everything was fine, but still no dice. I fixed a 5c that was run over twice and turned on after the first try yet I can't get this one to work. I thought it was the battery, so I replaced that also, but that wasn't it. Is there anything in the headphone jack/lightning connector that could cause it to not turn on? I'm really lost here, so any help would be appreciated, thank you.

You could just be suffering from a defective replacement Lightning flex. Small parts such as these tend to have higher defect rates so it is entirely possible. You could try to put the old one back. I don't know what the specific problem was that forced you to replace it in the first place, but if the phone still booted up with the original, the put it back and see if the phone boots once again. If it does, then you likely have a bad replacement part.

But would a defective lightning flex really cause the entire phone to just not turn on?

Sure it could, depending on what part of it is defective. That flex connects with the charging circuit so if the issue is there, it could pull the whole system down.

Great, I'll try throwing in another one and see what happens. Thanks for the suggestion!
