Philips DVD Home Theater System Volume

Why am I no longer able to increase the volume of my Philips DVD Home Theater System HTS6600? I can turn it up to maximum volume and it still plays very quietly. I have tried unplugging, giggling cords, etc. It was fine one day and then it just stopped having volume.

have you tried a different set of speakers or trying the speakers that will not work with a known working device? that way we can find out if it is the speakers or the device that is the issue.

door

No because the speakers hook into the subwoofer with unusual connection (square box) and subwoofer connects to receiver with another unusual square box connection.

sounds like fiber optics. the port has a shiny red light right?

door

I don't remember every seeing a shiny red light.

door

So they are not fiber optics. not sure what type that is. hold on.

Gekozen oplossing

Yes, I usually have them hooked between the sub & tv so I can watch DVD's. I found a link that noted multiple people having a similar problem and it was the motherboard.
