Used 6s Home button doesn’t have click feedback

Hey. Just got a used iPhone 6s. The home button barely clicks when you touch it, but seems to work, feels like it’s frozen. It barely clicks but works. It there a way to fix this ? I know the fingerprint sensor can be a pain with replacing and have read the home but ton can't be swapped out since it coded to the motherboard from Apple and touch ID won't work unless it's brought to apple to fix.

Is there a way to just replace the part that CLICK below the home button without repacking the fingerprint part of it????

This is a used phone I just bought that has never been open or repaired, so I thought it’s just worn. You think that will still work??

Just reseat the screws. Two turns are more then enough.

if that doesnt work maybe your right and the clicker is worn out. You could just place a new clicker on it. It wil work fine. You can order them online or just get it of a old Iphone 4 or something.

You can just replace the clicker only and touch id will still work no sodering? I'm just in a bind as I needed to use this phone starting today and can't. I also have my iphone 6 with a smashed screen right beside this used 6s and noticed the the 6s home button pushes in only about half way, compared to the iphone 6. Does this tell you guys anything? Maybe this is why is barely clicks at all. On the iphone 6, when you push the button in you get a hard click can when it's pushed in you can see a gap, but not on this 6s, it barely goes in.

The clicker is just a small square iT can be use for iT no problem.

Very interesting. I don't think anyone knows this trick. DO you have to solder anything to do this? Any instructions? I never looked it them close. Want to be sure this can be fixed by amateur with no soldering needed ,etc.

How do you get that small old clicker off and replace it?

You can Peel this of. Its a small square usealy with the dot a sticker and a aluminium plate. Hold those together. It wil stick. Its not very hard. If i have Some spare time left i wil make Some pics.

Very rarely the clicker goes bad, usually this is solved by adjusting the metal plate that goes under the home button.

The metal plate should have like a circle indent in the middle, if it does not and has a hole instead, the metal piece has popped off the metal plate and would need to be replaced.

yes what Ronaldo said, take it apart and reseat it if you have the tools and knowledge, there are lots of guides on here, but always remove the battery first, press the power to drain removing energy in phone and proceed. Many avoid this step and its all on preference and experience. i have seen many back light loss due to not disconnecting the battery but carefully try and reseat the home button, sometimes screens are replaced and home button not placed back center correctly, ensure metal back plate is placed correctly on home button.

Thanks. I just barely clicks and seems super mushy like it's very worn, but the phone looks in great shape. Very odd and disappointed. I've taken these apart before, but it just feels like this can't get any better.

np then i would certainly say damage , i have had a few where the home button back plates were upside down and the board part of the home button actually damaged. its all fixable but depends how deep you wanna get. definitely a hundred or two and some micro work.

Crap. I've fixed and replaced screens before myself and this is just a shame. Bought this used for $227, Iphone 6s 128 gig. I'm sure the seller will take it back since it was on ebay.

The other issue was when I turned it on, the screen doesn't let me hit the ok button for "no sim installed" or hit cancel, not responsive. Phone looks flawless too.

yes try it out for the return or open it up have a look at the ribbon cables and see if the original apple logo or any missing screws. then you know for sure if thre was a screen change etc.
