wanting to switch the combo drive to a superdrive
Do i have to do anything other than buy a superdrive and install it? I have a combo drive and just wante dot make sure that it would fit.

Just get the drive an drop it in. There should be no problems. You might want to tell us what drive you intend to get and we'll check it out for you.
