Not charging dead battery, usual tristar replacement but issues.

So the phone powers on with a DC bench power supply and shows that charging symbol when charger plugged in.

Won't charge a flat battery so I did the usual tristar replacement but it still has the same issue.

Well my tech did, he's been measuring and troubleshooting the rails for like 3 hours. I'm not sure if he's tried another tristar chip yet.

Is the phone recognized by iTunes? If it is, the TRISTAR may not be the issue.

Not charging can also be caused by TIGRIS, which actually supplies the juice or even the PMIC which regulates all of the IC's.

1 Opmerking:

The 5V power coming to the tristar chip is not stable, it keeps switching between 2V, 1.5V and some other values under 5V, I think my tech is still figuring it out to this day.
