Bad screen adhesive after crack replacement

Recently I had to get my screen replaced on my newish MBP after an alarmingly short drop onto the carpet from a couch arm cracked the screen rendering it unuseable. As the local official apple repaired had quoted my over $1K (And apple definately would not warranty it for me) I used a joint nearby thaqt had quoted a fraction over $500. I had used them in the past for repairs on the old macbook (Im a clutz) so they are usually pretty good.

The macbook came back fine, however it seems the screen isnt quite attached in right and sometimes sort of flops out of the case!. Peering behind it it seems theres some what LOOKS like magnets, but also there seems to be some sort of adhesive that really isnt adhesive at all.

How can I fix this? Do I just need to get in there with some super glue, or is this something that needs a bit of finnesse?

I would recommend you bring it back to them to have them re-attach the display or if you think you can do it then carefully remove the screen enough so you can measure the width of the adhesive tape Apple used. You'll need to pop the display off completely after you get the needed tape from here: Tesa 61395 Tape.

I think I'll be taking it back to them. Screen literally fell out of the metal casing this morning with a bunch of plasticy sheets going everywhere. Very shoddy repair job they did here.

I would highly recommend not doing anything to it except take it back to the repair shop that fixed it, and show them the issue.

If you dropped it again, causing this new failure, they should repair it for you - probably at a fee. If you did drop it and/or cause this, be upfront about it because they can usually tell.

If it really just separated on its own, explain it to them and see if they will warranty their work.

There are many reasons why a repair can fail but without seeing the damage myself I could not give my honest opinion on whether it is due to user error or improper repair or bad adhesive.

This isn't caused by a drop, I got it back from repair yesterday so I'm super paranoid,
