hello
i have replaced the charging port on my ipad mini 3, on inspection the port was faulty 2 pins touching, the port has been re-replaced but it wont charge, i can see a few darkened caps around the pm ic but they check out ok. please help

try a second port before moving onto possible board failures.

i have after the faulty one i have put 2 others on , no luck, now when i plug it in it connects to itunes ok but when i plug charger in it charges for a split second then stops charging (not charging next to battery)
if you have a battery on site, i would try replacing the battery next.
unfortunately the only real way to diagnose this issue is Trial and Error

If its not the charging port, try using a new charger. If that doesnt work, you may need a new battery.
