omarxboy, by the size of your hard-drive I would say you have a fourth gen iPod. If that is correct, it requires you to be plugged in to a firewire external charger to finish the restore process. Until you do that, it will not finish and won't be recognized by your software. so bottom line, you need to hook it up to external firewire to work. Good Luck.

omarxboy, so you had no change with the firewire? It has to be a firewire, not USB. If you have tried and it did not work have you tried to reset it already? Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)

Press and hold the Menu and Select(center button) buttons until the Apple logo appears. You may need to repeat this step.

Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button (center button) is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.

Hi, I've got the exact same issue. tried all the above, but still receive the same symbol. When i repeat the steps it still reverts back from apple logo to the charger:

'Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.) Press and hold the Menu and Select(center button) buttons until the Apple logo appears. You may need to repeat this step. Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.'

Did you finish the restore with a FIREWIRE connection? It will not finish with a USB connection and will give you that error.

Hello, I have the same problem. I plugged in an adapter charger for more than 48 hours but still nothing. I tried to reset it by pressing select and hold together, but the apple disappears, giving way again to the icon of the electrical outlet. I also tried to put it into disk mode but it does not work either.

fleur 303 what ipod do you have? It is possible that you may require a new battery. Also make sure that your dock connector is clean, does not have any corrosion and has no bend pins.

It's a classic, 4th generation, 20 GB, special edition, refurbish. I also believe that this may be the battery, I'll go to an Apple store today to see how they feel about this situation. However, I don't understand is why the battery was working fine before the restoration and that it was after this action that it no longer works ..?!
