The sensor on the bottom of the watertank

the sensor of the watertank to heat the water is not working anymore, the last weeks I had to "wiggle" the tank to get it to heat the water.

Since I cannot find the correct size of the magnet, I use another solution to solve the rusting of the magnet permanently, I pull out the floating unit which contain the rusted magnet and discard it, consider the rust may cause harm to your body as you drink the coffee which made with the water everyday. To let the sensor detect the water level is normal I stick a magnet directly on the box of the sensor which is located inside the back cover of the coffee machine, and the blinking problem is immediately solved. The pro and con of this solution is :

Pro: No more worry about the blinking issue and the harmful rusting water odor.

Con: Need to be aware of the low water level of the tank.

Hope this will help those who have the same problem of their Senseo coffee machine.

Good solution, I used the exact same method. I bought a new magnet and glued it outside on the water tank.

@tanelr Thanks, what magnet did you use? I have tried with a fridge magnet and unfortunately it is too thick to fit in the gap between the tank and the machine.

Alex, your recommendation sounds marvellous... May I please ask how did you remove tye floater without "damaging" the reservoir?

I use a long tweezer to pull out the floating unit which is a kinda click system.

The Sensor is built in the body of the machine. The oppositepart is a Neodym-magnet. This Magnet is permantly in the watertank. The water has permanty contact to the water we drink. This water destroys the neodym magnet an destroy the surface. This is dispicable black coorodes thing. You can changhe easely the magnet.

You need a long grill tong an pry the plastic sensor upwards our of the tank. It was holded with a metallclasp. Open the little plasticbox and change the magnet. rebuild it and drink the water.

A good decision is to change everytime the water in the tank. Leave the tank empty without water. Flush the container bevor making coffe with water.

Thats a funny workaround, I like it. You don't have to be afraid: Iron and rust is harmless, your blood consists partly of it .

I have opposite problem! Still indicating water in tank when very low indeed. Is it likely a problem in the body of the machine rather than the reservoir float?

@peterverwood : maybe the magnet blew and the float does not move?

Thank you - will check it out.
