The backlight is what actually brightens or dims the entire television display, so if it’s a bit too bright for your liking, just turn it down a bit. And if it’s not bright enough, crank it up to a level that’s suitable. However, make sure to leave the “brightness” alone unless you’re re-calibrating your TV’s picture. For day-to-day adjustments, backlight is what you want.

Thanks for your help . but it has not solved my problem. the lights that I am talking about are behind the screen but are on all the time there are 26 white lights about 25.4 cm in dia and there are on regardless of any programs that are on, I stated that they were the back lights but maybe they are some other lights,

I hope I am making sence, and look forward to your comments.

Hi Mike,

Wow! How big is your TV?

25.4cm diameter lights are very big. 26 of them must take up the whole screen. Just kidding.

Do you mean that all 26 lights are in a row and combined they take up 25.4cm or perhaps you meant 25.4mm?

If they are always on perhaps they are 'stuck' pixels - mind you they would be a lot smaller than the size you have mentioned

Take a close up picture of the TV showing the lights on and post back here so we can see what you can see.

Hi @johnnyp91195

Check if the following setting is in your particular model.

Go to Settings > Picture > Picture Mode > Picture Option > LED Local Dimming:

Off : Disables the LED Local Dimming function

Low/Medium/High : Changes the contrast ratio.

Also check if there if there is a setting called Motion Eye Care / Smart Energy Saving in the same menu area

This adjusts the brightness corresponding to the movement of the image on the screen.
