Won’t turn on or off, vizio logo flashing , black screen, 47” tv

When I turn on power the vizio logo flashes for a few seconds, then is steady, then goes off and after a few seconds starts that cycle again. It does this over and over with me not touching anything. Screen remains black.

@mikew7 what model is your TV? What Vizio logo? The one on the screen?

door

No power indicator light comes on by itself then shuts off then the only thing that power indicator light comes on and your master power button then goes off

door

Mine is white n no matter what I’ve done, it continues to flash, then stops, repeat. I’ve done everything suggested except the silver cyclinder thing which I don’t have.

Answer the question is symbol if it's a Vizio symbol blinking white and then yellow you going left hand side of the TV you hold it down the silver power button hold it down for 30 seconds count to 30 it'll blink and then they'll stop and we'll go stagnant yellow then hit it one more time it'll turn on just had that problem just now

Mine blinks then goes solid and cycles back. I unplugged it overnight. I unplugged it held the button for 30 seconds pushed it again. I did the same thing with the power on. I let it blink all day. And I'm still doing the same thing

I tried holding it for 30 seconds and nothing happened. Tried this several times with tv plugged in and unplugged. I was going to give up and toss the tv. But I decided to give it one more try. With tv still plugged in, I held the button for 4 to 5 minutes. While still holding the button, the tv went to solid orange and then turned on. Thanks for the suggestion. It works, but not necesarily in 30 seconds

Tysm Tyler. Completely and totally right and this fixed my tv after multiple power surges and many different attempts at other solutions this one works. It works EVERY TIME for my Vizio at least. You rock kind sir! Have a good one !?

I was looking for more info on the problem, but can add this. Vizio customer support is GREAT. I learned that you can unplug the tv and, likely on the bottom left side of the tv, wherever your HDMI ports are, is a silver cylinder looking button you push for at least 15 seconds. Then replug the cord. If that does not fix the problem it needs to be repaired.

I was given the phone # for their repair folks, who I was told can give me an estimate for the repair. Then I can decide if it is worth it or just buy another tv. I have to wait till Monday to call them as they are closed on Sat-Sun.

Hope this helps.

Just let it flash. It stopped flashing after a couple minutes and works now.

On 55” Vizio, I tried several iterations of:

  1. Remove all connections
  2. Unplug Power

# 2.a. Hold silver power button down for 30 seconds

  1. Plug Power
  2. 3.a. Hold silver power button 30 seconds
  3. Unplug Power
  4. 4.a. Hold silver power button down
  5. 4.b. Plug Power — while holding silver power button for 30 seconds
  6. Upon step 4, the logo stopped blinking at around 26 seconds mark.

Do you need to stand on your head while doing it?

24 white blinks then 1 Orange. Keeps repeating. No silver button just controls on left side. Leaving unplugged for the night will check again in morning.

door

we did that already. Also did all the plug and unplug power button stuff but got nowhere. I was wondering does vizio have blink codes? The blinking continues to be a constant cycle of slow/fast blinks.

@tonyhoward same here.. any fix?

My 43” Vizio did the flash and die thing when it was new. I was just getting ready to pack it back to the store but I plugged it in one more time and it restarted.

It has done it a few times in the past 10 years always coming back in a few minutes with no action from me.

Today it was out for a few hours, I took the back off to look for anything obvious and dust it out. Still nothing. I reseated the connectors, still nothing.

About two hours later it came back to life.

So if nothing else be patient! Of course it could still be dieing but a new TV wouldn't make me sad.

That silver cylinder button you speak of? Would it happen to be the power button? I can't seem to find another button and have tried holding my tongue every angle listed on here. Mine also is orange, orange/ white 24 times, white off repeat.

Yes. Just press and hold the cylinder. I have done it for up to 2 or 3 minutes but eventually it will retstart back to normal.
