Left half of screen has double image jumping around

Hi guys,

I have a problem with my 55 inch tv. What could cause this problem and can I fix it?

The left half has a double image jumping up and down. If I remove the left ribbon cable from the tcon 3/4 of the screen is normal with color loop. Could this be a tcon board defect or something else.

Block Image

Thanks in advance!

My tv has a side by side, the left side is repeated on the right side. There is a blue & a black line between the two images

@jellealgra yes it is possible that this is based on a T-con board error. Since your image appears normal with the ribbon cable disconnected, I'd try a replacement and then re-evaluate. We might have further information for you if you can let us know what make and model your TV is.

It is indeed a tcon problem. I switched a ribbon cable with another and the same thing happened. When I leave the connector open(plastic tab) and put Just a little bit of presure on the cable the picture is almost normal( missing soms contrast) but when I close the tab it's bad again. Can I fix this or should I replace the tcon board? Tv model is a Panasonic TX-55AX900e

@jellealgra I'd go with a new board. Of course at this point you really have nothing to lose so use a rework station and reflow the solder connections from the connector to the board. Be careful so that you will not melt it.

The tcon board did not fix the problem...is it the cables attached tot panel defective or the bufferboards?
