How to prevent LOCA leak into the backlight

Hi guys,

I still could not find a technique that would work every time to prevent LOCA leak into the backlight. I know already that for some phones you could remove backlight before applying LOCA and put it back again after you finish. But in some cases the risk is too high to remove the backlight because you could damage the LCD.

What is your technique? Have you tried to apply LOCA sealant around the edges where LCD and backlight meet? What about the tape method when you apply tape around each edge? What works best? Thanks!

It sounds as if you have already named the best ways. Personally, I use to remove the backlight and install new ones since the cost isn't that much, but that is only in the case of refurbishing OEM LCD's when needed. With the prices falling on the LCD's and most knock offs working for the majority... I have just changed to buying the lessor expensive replacement screens unless the customer requests the higher quality LCD and original. I have tried the sealers and tape and it's just too much time and not consistent.
