I wan to cancel the mouse pad, and use only a cordless mouse.

If you are using Snow Leopard you can set up the native track pad and mouse to be disabled automatically when you connect with the cordless mouse. Just go to System Preferences and look for the option under the Mouse preferences.

Just set up the mouse and use it. Both will work.

You can install this little software:
Sausage Fingers from Apple.
It will let you disable the touchpad from the status-bar.
