Replaced the lcd and glass screen now only get a white screen

My ipod got dropped and cracked the screen so I replaced the lcd and glass screen now all i get is a white screen I have tried to reboot it when i hold down the power and home button it says either fuction not available or music is already playing after it beeps twice i did break the ribbon that connects to the motherboard but i should be able to see the screen right? when i say it says i mean in audio not on the screen plz help me out

if it is pure white this is a common problem, try a program called recboot, put it in recovery, load itunes till it detects its in recovery, quit itunes, load recboot again and kick it out, now with any luck its sorted! other solution is run battery flat any way that you can leave it when it wont even turn on for a couple of days, then put on charge again and try turning on, hopefully problem sorted!

Using recboot worked for me after a white screen problem.
