sim card tray is stuck

hi guys,

i have puchased iphone 4 from u.k ( 16gb,factory unlocked, international bill) and reside in India. I cut my sim into micro sim and inserted it but after 20 days i realized that iphone sim tray is stuck and donot pop out ( when pressed with pin only 2-3 mm comes out). There is no iphone 4 assistance in India so i asked from a local iphone repair person and he said that device will be disassemble. I have international warranty but of no use. Is there any way to take out the sim card tray without disassembly ?

I just checked out my SIM slot and I am surprised that you had to cut your card to install it into the SIM tray. But it seems that in doing so you may have had a raised edge and if you force it you are likely to do damage to your SIM card and tray.

Without seeing it all I can sense is that you will have to pull the unit apart to fix the problem. Good Luck.

I've been trying and searching for hours online to get the sim tray out.

none of the solutions I found worked for me.

I already messed the sim tray up

(it's a Gevey tray, so I still have my original one)

I ended up figuring out a solution that no one thought about and it worked like a dream.

all what I needed was a screw that I tight by hand so it won't go all the way to iphone hole part. than pull it.

the sim tray comes out as easy as it seems.

I hope that would help someone as desperate as I was before I got it out.

I have the same issue. I cut the regular sim to a microsim and then inserted it into my iphone 4. Now the tray wont come out.

Do we know for sure that I can remove the sim card by taking the unit all apart? I can go to the Apple store but am afraid that they would replace me with another iphone 4 which I dont want. I have my iphone 4 jailbroken and also am able to maintain my baseband on the phone to be 01.59

Any help on this would be greatly appreicated.

I just got my 5s and couldn't open the sim card slot. I found, however, if you did feel a little resistance when you first inserted a paper clip or the tool that came with it and it gave way but didn't come out, try this:

Hold the phone face down in your hands and gently tap it against your leg. It may cause the metal clip to fall back into place that you need to push against in order to get the slot to pop out. But be gentle; the parts inside can easily be broken.
