The Circle Pad won't register its full radius

Calibration always fails. I tried submerging the circuit board in ethyl alcohol several times, to no avail, as it still doesn't go all the way down. How do I fix this? Replacement parts seem hard to come by now that it's been replaced by the New 3DSes.
