Hello, my name is Angel and i got the same issue with the red vertical line going down my screen. I have taken the back off thetv and i don't know what flat cables you refer to. Please help me. Thanking you.

@angiel you need to check the flat ribbon cable where it enters the LCD panel. The ribbon cable is glued (bonded) to the panel and those have a tendency of coming undone. Apply some pressure on the TAB that corresponds with where the line is on your screen. See if that changes anything. The attached image is just an example of what to look for.

I have a vertical red line on a 10 year old Panasonic. I had xfinity send a signal to the set, but it didn’t help? I will apply pressure as you have directed. If it works, how do you maintain the pressure?
