Fixed a Battery on my own, now the touch screen isn't responding.

I recently tried to fix this tablet on my own, at first it didn't work and there were some graphic errors(messed up colors and it wouldn't load properly, etc.) I decided to go back to strengthen the ribbons, thinking I might have put the ribbons protecting the battery too loosely. After I did that, it seemed to work. The screen was vibrant and looked normal, and you can see notifications pop up. However, now the I cant use the touch screen. I cant open the lock screen. I know it's not frozen because I do see email notifications pop up.

I just had a similar problem with my Iphone 5s. I don't know much about the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, but I learned today what might be the problem. The leads on that allow the touch screen to work might either have some "fluff" around them or there could be a few missing as well. Best of luck to you.

So I should open it up to check if something got inside the tablet?

Try just cleaning out by the leads, but be careful not to pull any out or bend any of them

when you fix the screen you must power down first. You also must unplug the battery. Try cycling power by unplugging the battery for 1 minute then reinstalling
