Ice maker not dispensing ice, compartment not opening

My grandparents have a 5 month old Samsung fridge that stopped dispensing ice about 2 days ago. It still makes a whirring sound but doesn't dump anything. We checked to make sure the "trap door" was opening, that's not the problem. The ice maker compartment won't open either. We followed the manual, called in a Samsung guy, but nothing we've tried is working. Where they live there are frequent power failures, but the last time they had one was only for a few seconds (it often goes out during the night when everyone's sleeping, so we don't know for sure that was the last failure) but not enough to melt the ice.

Gabriel-you refrigerator is still in warranty. If you mess with it they can void your warranty. If the ice bin won't pulll out freely, don't force it. You could damage the freon line that runs through that icemaker and that freon gas line is NOT repairable. Your entire refrigerator will stop working and there is nothing that can be done except buy a new refrigerator. If you damage it, it will not be covered under warranty.

The ice maker door should hinge at the top, life the flap and look into it and see if there is any ice in it. If not see if the wire lever is in the down position. If it is up it tells the maker that it is full and not to make any more ice.

UPDATE

Pull the whole unit out by sliding it straight out.

We already tried to open the ice maker door. It doesn't move at all, and we think it might be frozen shut.

Remove the ice tray. Turn the lever up and down to see if the trap door is opening. If it is working properly, look in the compartment where the ice tray goes. All the way towards the back on the right side, there is the actuator which actuates the metal rod which opens the trap door. There should be an aluminum square with a hole in it. If not, it likely broke, like mine did and needs to be replaced. The crappy thing? They wont mail me the replacement piece. I missed a day of work and the repair man didn't show up. Samsung never called me to say they couldn't get in touch with the repair man.

Has anyone been told that the intake line needs a reduced waterpresure of 1 cup per 10seconds. So now I need a seperate cutoff just for ice maker line to reduce waterpresure. Why in the world doesn't the icemaker control its own intake and output.
