iPhone 5S bootloop and pry damage

Block Image

Hi everyone!

I have an Iphone 5s that is stuck in a bootloop.

When i try to recover it in iTunes it gives me error 9.

After some close inspection of the board i noticed that one tiny component is nocked off behind the battery connector.

It is the 4th one from the right capacitor, 56PF 5% 16V NPO-COG, 01005.

Is this capacitor responsable for the bootloop.

What are my options here?

No, that capacitor is not responsible for the boot-looping. However, one missing component could be indicative of other missing or partially dislodges components. I would check around all of the connectors and along the edges of the logic board.

Why was the phone open and being repaired...that might give us a clue.

The phone was working fine for a long time, untill it started to reboot out off nowhere.

This became more frequent till the point it only reboots .

I know i charges the battery just fine cause i checken it with my multimeter.

So Its not the u2ic i think.

Maybe a Nand error or a short in one off the nand capacitor maybe?

And the screen has been changed a long while ago.

Yeah, it could be a NAND issue.

door

How do i fix this if its the nand.

I have a multimeter, hmmmmm.

It seems a difficult and tricky problem.

door

Sorry, but a multimeter wont help you in repairing a NAND related issue. The NAND IC has to be desoldered from the logic board, which requires special tools and skills and then reprogrammed/repaired with a special programming device.

This is an advanced repair that can only be done by an experienced micro-solderer with the proper tools.
