Backlight works, but no picture

One day my Macbook Pro works, but then the next day when I turned it on, I hear the boot up noise but no image.

I've already tried both a SMC and PRAM reset, but with no success.

The backlight still works, but I'm not getting any picture whatsoever.

I took it to the Apple store and they just told me that I would have to replace the entire display with no explanation to what went wrong.

Could it be a loose LDVS connector, or is there a far worse problem that would warrant me buying a new screen assembly off ebay and installing it myself?

Try this first of all:

1. Try and connect an external display to your MacBook to see if you have a picture externally.

2.Try and boot from a external drive push Alt/option at startup and see if you see the drive on the internal screen.

3. Boot in Diagnistics mode , push D at startup and see if something shows up.

If you buy a screen on eBay, you try it and still does not show an image then you have a mothearboard issue, try and buy from a vendor who accepts returns (in case is not the screen)

If you have an image on the external screen try and do an update to the system (worked once for me) same thing if you get an image when booting from external drive.
