Battery slightly misaligned - any way to solve without removing it?

My battery is very slightly misaligned (maybe 1mm at the most?) so I can't connect the battery connector. Is there any way of fixing this other than taking the battery out and putting it back in? I struggled with the adhesive strips when removing my original battery, breaking them and having to use heat to get the battery out. When removing the battery I had to bend it to a point which I assume it would no longer be safe to use - and I don't see myself doing any better this time around, and I can't afford another battery (or to pay £8 for 3-4 day shipping again either). Does anyone have any ideas?

If you're not able to get the connector to stretch a little and plug in, you're going to have to move the battery. You could try heating the back of the phone, under the battery area, then once the adhesive is soft, just slide the battery over slightly so you can plug it in. That might be easier than trying to totally remove it, although the battery does always come out easier the second time.

Someone on a different forum suggested this and it worked perfectly - heated it up for a few minutes and gently budged it down using the blue spudger from the kit. Only took maybe half a millimetre of movement to be able to pop the connector in. Thanks for the help!
