Do I need battery adhesive strips for a battery battery replacement?

I want to replace my battery but don't have adhesive strips and was wondering would it cause any damage if I don't use them?

Unfortunately, the OP has not specified what device this questions was for. However, I will assume that this is for a mobile device as the batteries are usually secured in place with two or more double-sided adhesive.

In short, it is always better to secure the battery to keep it from jostling around inside. Mobile devices take a lot of abuse, even when we don't realize it. The battery is dense and heavy and could cause some internal damage to itself or the connector on the logic board.

Even some regular 3M double-sided tape available at Staples is better then none but if you can, always order the appropriate adhesive with the replacement battery.

My personal favourite to use is the red double sided tape from eBay. PET Heat resistant tape. 4mm or more.

Not essential. Use 2 strips, it's enough to hold a battery in place, yet you can use an isessamo tool to lift out the battery without damaging
