Is my phone totaled or repairable?

My iPhone has taken water damage, It wasn't in the water long. The iPhone seems like it wants to turn on, but it won't go past the "Apple" logo as its turning on. The screen has Gray lines going across the screen when plugged up. I took the phone to a "Dry Box" but the issue is still the same. It has been about 5 days since it got wet and is still not working.

@francastillo this is to augment the answers already given. I suggest you treat it just like any other water damaged iPhone. The very first thing you want to do is to not try to restart, sync or otherwise try to use the phone. This may further damage your phone. The next thing to do is to clean it. Disassemble your phone using [this guide You must remove all EMI shields from the logicboard. If you do not do that, you are not cleaning 3/4 of the board. Then clean it with +90% isopropyl alcohol. Follow this guide , and even so it was written for a Apple iPhone 3G all the points are still pertinent to your phone. While you clean your board, check for any obvious damage, like burned or missing components etc. The best way to clean everything would of course be with an ultrasonic cleaner. There are people that have specialized in water damage repair, like @refectio. So, they could be a good resource for you as well. When it is properly cleaned, replace the battery. All these steps are to avoid delayed failure caused by corrosion. Once all this is done, reassemble your phone and reevaluate.

Usually they are dead or the cost of repair will to high to consider this. If data is your concern try a local data recovery center to do it for you.

Water is unforgivable on electronics.

Francisco, Try this before giving up. Stop charging or powering up your device until the liquid damage is addressed correctly, as you could be shorting out components inside the phone. You really should take care of the corrosion that is happening inside the phone from the water damage as that could be your problem. A tear down link for your device Link #1, disassembly guide will enable you to get inside the phone to remove the damage/corrosion caused by the liquid. Use the 2nd link as a guide/instruction on how to clean/repair the device from liquid damage, 3rd link is not your exact phone but has useful info. that relates back to your phone. After this you will be able to power on the phone and see if further damage has to be addressed. If not wanting to attempt the repair pop into a good local cell phone repair shop and have them take a look and estimate repair. Good luck. I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.
