Phone wont turn on after screen replacement

Hi Everyone,

I did a screen replacement on an iPhone SE , the first replacement screen was working but had a crack in it only noticeable after turning on. So I had to use a different screen. Screen turned on but the Apple logo stayed on, flashed 3 times phone turned off. I cannot get it to turn on again, screen is black. I plugged it into a computer and the computer recognized it, but nothing on the screen. I figured it was another bad screen so I got another replacement one.

I put the new screen on but nothing on the phone at all now and computer wont recognize it. I thought it might be battery needs charging but that didn't seem to help. I tried the old screen but it is to broken. I have been super careful and organize with all the screws so I am about 90% sure thats not the issue at all, but you never know.

My next thought is camera cable so I will check that now, just thought of it as I was typing.

Any thoughts or ideas from all you great pros out there would be very helpful.

Thank you in advance and have a good day

Hello my my west coast friend...

Before your second paragraph, I suspected you may have damaged the backlight circuit while swapping screens. Did you disconnect the battery between each attempt? However, after getting through the second paragraph, I'm not so sure.

At this point, once you isolate the screen and battery (do they work on other devices?), you are left with the logic board. You may have mixed up the screws; go back and double check and also look inside the standoffs. If that appears okay, then something went awry on the board. Could be backlight only (although iTunes would recognize your phone) or more upstream damage.

If you are comfortable probing the board let me know and I'll give you more ideas. Otherwise, you may want have a professional micro-solderer take a look at the board.

Thank you Minho for your reply and knowledge, it is much appreciated.

Yes the battery was always disconnected at every attempt. I even tried a new battery.

I ended up taking it apart again and figured out the camera cable was causing the issue. I closely examined the parts with a magnifying glass and it looks like the connector for the camera cable on got damaged at some point. I will replace the front camera and go from there.

Thank you again.

My pleasure, congrats on the fix!

Is this issue caused by a faulty front camera cable /set up alone ?
