My motor overheats and the vacuum shuts off. I cleaned everything.

I have taken the vacuum apart and cleaned everything that I can access. This is bagless. I am wondering if there is sand in the motor, since it turns on and has good suction, then after just one or two minutes shuts down. Can I take the motor apart to clean?
