white screen and beeping noise

hi, i have problem with my macbook for a time now it doesn't start up

for sometime i was only able to see a white screen with an apple on it and a black mark getting longer but never riched more than half way and fan was going like crazy. finally i found somewhere if i press option+R and power it goes on utility mode, which for my surprise it did...

than i decided to erase everything on it and start all over. so i pressed HD to erase but it said it doesn't work, lucky me :) than i tried to erase the sub part? XZ? on HD on journal security option which it did but after that i wasn't able to navigate any more on the screen. so i turned of the laptop. now when i turn it on it has a white screen and beeping noise - lucky me :)

so i just want to erase everything from it to able to put a new mac os on it or to sell as parts...

thank you for help. oh i'm not a geek so please use plain language pls :)

@susienot Susie Go buy a USB flash stick. These things are cheap.

How many beeps are you getting? Is there a pattern to the beeps? The number and timing of the beeps will tell us what one of your problems may be.

3 beeps and quiet that 3 beeps again....

thank you for your help

That points to a Ram problem. Try reseating the Ram sticks, exchange slots, remove one, remove the other, until you find a proper combination when the beeping disappears.

You just need an install medium, such as the original install disc if still available or a bootable usb stick.

Once you have that start the mac keeping the option (alt) key pressed until you see appearing your hard drive icon. Insert the disc or the usb stick and select it with mouse, and the mac will boot from that. Once you get to the install screen choose utilities from the upper menu and open disk utility. You'll see your hard drive appearing on the left column. Select it and choose initialize..you're done !

Nope, sorry, no other option. Without a bootable install media there's nothing you can do.

You may have more than one issue here. Tell us about the beeping.
