MacBook WONT charge the battery. new battery still nothing

okay i bought this macbook used. he said it needed a new battery.

i ordered battery connector and the dc in bored i havent got them yet. under the battery connector i see a little black and there seems to be green stuff on the pins on the original connector.

just wondering if im waisting my time with the new parts.

also if i put a charged up battery in the machine it works just fine it simply will not charge it.

the magsafe led is always dim green with or without the battery.

i did all the resets pram and what not.

The newer Unibody MacBooks have liquid sensor indicators so Apple factory techs can tell if it's been wet. They did this because seeing the results of water damage is almost impossible.
