To enable your touchpad manually without clicking any of the F5, F6, etc. buttons:

1. Go to "Touchpad settings." You can find this by searching "Touchpad settings" in your settings search bar.

2. You will see a category labeled "Related Settings." Underneath this, click on "Additional Settings." This will open up a new window labeled "Mouse Properties

3. To the farthest right, you will see a tab labeled "Device Settings." Click on this tab.

4. You will now see your devices. Click on Luxpad or the name of your touchpad, and click the enable button below.

5. After enabling the touchpad, click the "Apply" button at the bottom right corner and then "Okay" to ensure your changes are saved.

Click the Start button, and type in Mouse. Click on Mouse to open it, click on Device Settings. You should be able to enable and disable the Touchpad

on mine i had to press FN and mouse button thats on F5

That only works is the target machine still has the all-but-useless "Toshiba FN Key Drivers" which take the standard FN Key layout and makes it so those little pretty pictures mean something when you press FN+ a Fkey. This is VERY stupid design because if that driver is lost........ and if your snaptics mouse gets disabled somehow....... you need to plug a USB mouse in and then click on the Snaptics Tray Icon (or find it in the Device Manager). There is an option to re-enable it, but you man not find a reason for why it disabled or how to prevent it again.

I’ve tried every combo and it still won’t work. I also don’t know why the touch pad stopped working. I was in the middle of updating my resume to do job apps. So frustrating. Finally found an old USB mouse and it said the driver installed. Still nothing! I’m going to wait to see if things catch up (this computer is sooo slow now.

Any other suggestions?

This has happened to me too! Lost my temper so gotta buy a mouse on a cable to sort it out!

This happened on both my toshibas .Go to touchpad settings, click additional settings, click advanced feature settings, click device select and two windows appear select use touch pad .This may only work if you have power point. This may have been caused by update. The fn key thing worked a time or two then not .I was about to throw mine against the wall. Power point still worked and I used it and left click to perform this

I also had the same issue. I could sign on to my Toshiba Satellite laptop but could NOT see the mouse cursor. F5 is the key. You can try hitting it and the space bar key, or it and Windows key Or it and CTRL key. I did all of those and got back my mouse cursor. I'm not positive which one combination did it. It did work.
