iPad will not recharge.

The Battery logo light shows up , but will not charge. Battery is so low it will not reboot by pushing Home and Power buttons. I have tried various other chargers and cables that are working on other iPads.

It seemed to be charged and working fine but then went black and will not charge and/or start.

first thing id try is cleaing out the the 30pin connector dock, and try charging again, if that doesn't work, replacing the dock would be the next option, then battery...

The iPad Air series uses the 5-pin lightning connector not the 30-pin connector for the charging port.

I wonder if it's just a loose battery connection.

Sounds like the battery needs to be replaced. How old is the iPad? If it's under a year and you have no physical dents on it then you might be able to leave it under warranty to Apple. If it's over a year then try to leave it to a workshop that can give you a price quote before repair.

Also, you could leave it with apple if it's over a year old too and ask for a replacement unit but that might be a bit pricy.

Thanks for your answers. I tend to agree with the Battery replacement scenario. I bought it new last June so it ought to be under warranty. Although I did buy it with my United miles. I hope Apple covers that. I don't see why not unless they use that as a loophole.

Anyway , there's no dirt or lint in the connecter. Off to the Apple store. If that doesn't work then onto iFixit.
