Installing a new hard drive

I just changed out my 80gb HD to a 250gb SATA 2.5

I am following your online guide and am at step 21. When I click on the 250gb on the left the partition map reads - unformatted. I am not real computer savy (obviously) and just don't want to loose all my info. I bought the upgrade kit and have my old HD connected via usb. I would really appreciate your help. I did try to go onto step 22 but the " - " can't be highlighted. Thanks for any help.

You need to reformat the new hard drive with your Mac Operating System (OS) Installation DVD. Instructions here: http://help.bombich.com/faqs/overview/fo...

Disconnect your old drive connected by USB(set it aside) and reformat the new drive. After you reformat the new drive, you can transfer everything over from your old drive using CCC (carbon Copy Cloner) found here: http://www.bombich.com/
