Sleep light doesn't work.

Okay. I have searched here and google and to no avail with an answer for this question.

I recently had to replace the bottom case of my white macbook, which we all know is taking the entire computer apart and putting it back together. After replacing the broken part with the new one, my entire system works just the same as (if not better than) before. The only problem I'm experiencing is that my sleep light doesn't flash.

I am mostly positive that I hooked the connection from the sleep light to the hard drive caddy perfectly. I say mostly b/c it's hard to tell which side of that thing is up. But I followed the picture description on this site.

I really want to bring this back, so any info would be great. But I dread taking this thing apart again >.<

The sleep light pulses on when it is sleeping, is off when it is awake, and is off when shut down (proper operation).

Try reseating

the HD. If that's not the problem you'll have to dismantle and reverse the connection... unless that board is damaged?

Try manually sleeping the machine in reassembly before you screw down the topcase.

Good luck,

Okay. I tried doing that and it didn't work. I'm assuming (as you said) the board is dead. Maybe something happened during shipping, or maybe it was defective to begin with. I got it from eBay so I assumed there would be some repercussion for paying so little. I'm selling this product now for a new MBP, but thanks for the reply.
