Touch screen only working with S-Pen

i dropped my phone in water. it worked for a few days but then the touch sensor started having issues. now it doesn't work with finger but only work with spen.

do i need to change the whole lcd and digitizer or can it be repaired

I've tried updating the tsp through *#2663# because most people say it works but I can't get in. It prompts: "Device keystring has stopped". Help!
