Hello did you get to repair your dryer?

door

Similar issues with mine; three clicks, audible woosh when the main valve opens, however, the flame will go out, clothes do not get warm and dry. If I restart, occasionally everything works fine. Drum gets hot, clothes dry in one cycle. Sometimes have to change from quick dry to timed or sanitize to get things working properly. Seems to happen with no regular pattern...

Has anyone seen this?

think its the gas valve coils

How do you see the flame in a samsung dryer? There doesnt seem to be a viewing hole

The gas dryer has three steps to get heat and stay going. One is the flame igniter, Two is the low flame pilot coil. Three is the main gas valve. We set up the dryer to run and although it is noisy listen for a click as the drum gets to speed, this turns on the igniter. The igniter is a heating element much like the filament in a light bulb, it glows hot. Then the lo heat or pilot valve is turned on and you hear another click. The gas is let out to the igniter and lights a flame. If the flame sensor feels the heat and sees the flame then the third and final click will energize the main gas valve and a much larger flame will come o with more gas and the dryer will dry the clothes keeping the main gas valve going on and off with the correct temperature . Because your dryer shuts down so quickly you have to determine if you are getting the piolet valve on and then off or the piolet on and no main gas valve .

Safety is key and the dryer has devices to shut the gas off if things go wrong. |I am going to say you have a valve coil burnt or a safety sensor bad.

One thing to be is a hero in your home. You need to take control of your safety and your family safety. Call a repair man for this gas trouble. Stay away from trying to fix this. Yes it costs for a repair man but being a stupid person could cost you your life. Be a hero and make the call to a repair man.

Good Luck

That is correct the dryer runs all three clicks but right after the igniter goes off the gas valve shuts the flame is there a second suggestion greatly appreciated.

I believe it may be the controller board or one of the safety thermostats. If you are getting the high output gas valve to open then the cycle safety's must be shutting it down. I do not have a detailed electric print of your model. Again you should call in a repair person rather than be in danger.

Carlos, If your ignitor is going out, the flame will too. There is a reason the ignitor is cutting off. The easiest test to determine the problem is to open a window or door to get fresh air inside, disconnect the vent hose from the back of dryer. Then turn the dryer on. If the dryer heats to around 140*f then cuts off and comes back on around 110*f then the dryer is fine. The problem is in the vent or wall.

A GAS DRYER MUST BE BE PROPERLY VENTED. THE FUMES ARE DEADLY.

IF it’s not reaching temp , check amperage of the ignitor. It should pull 3.2 amps. All sensors, tstats and thermistors should be closed when checking resistance. The coils should be close as well.

willr319 & Carlos Naranjo - Check the dryer vent hose, make sure it isn't kinked or squished. If it is. remove the vent hose and clean it. Any holes or tears need to be patched to prevent carbon dioxide from entering your home. While vent hose is off the dryer, turn the dryer on and see if the flame still goes out. If it heats fine without the vent hose on then you know the dryer isn't the problem,. You have a restriction in the vent going outside. Attach the vent hose to dryer, turn the dryer on air dry- no heat setting and locate where it is vented outside. You should get good air flow out. Remove any restrictions, birds like to build nest in vents, lint collects etc. If the venting in the wall has to make turns (elbows) instead of a straight shot to the outside, you could have a clog in an elbow. A chimney sweep or duct cleaning is who to call.

The answer to the gas dryer cutting the flame off is usually due to lack of air flow. Check the dryer vent hose for kinks. Turn dryer on and go outside to the vent. Do you feel good air pressure blowing out? If little air is blowing out then you have a restriction somewhere in the the wall, vent hose or the dryer blower.
