Digitizer broken after battery replacement?

Hello -

I took apart my iPhone 6 last night and swapped out the battery. I've worked on the 4s and 5 before without issues, but this one was a little tougher. I believe I damaged the digitizer when assembling the phone. When I type on my keyboard, my email app randomly opens (app located on home screen FYI). I also notice sometimes when I try to unlock my device the touch screen doesn't work unless I lock and unlock again. Just seems finicky, and I am assuming I pushed too hard when putting the front panel back on. Argh!

Thoughts?

Update (01/13/2017)

iMedic hit the nail on the head. I am a complete idiot and was following the 6 Plus guide, not the 6 guide, which has different screws. I believe I ruined the logic board due to using the wrong screws for the front panel assembly cable bracket.

It's definately possible. One thing I'm wondering is did you put all the screws, for the display cables, back in the exact same order you took them out? If it isn't lsd, then you just need a new display

I did not put the screws in the exact same order I removed them, but I did separate each screw so the correct size was put in the correct space. Would that make the difference?

Wow, you're right. I looked at the guide you linked, and it shows different screw placement than the iPhone 6 battery replacement guide I utilized. The guide I used did not show the same number of screws my phone has, which I thought was odd but just an oversight. So did I break the phone?

Ehhh, it's possible. I have a micrometer for situations like this. I'll post a picture in my original post, try to get the screws back where they belong, then test the phone. If it's still not working, you can ship it off to a repair tech, that specializes in board level microsoldering. I hear iPad Rehab does great work

Hey iMedic - I added a photo to my original post. Not sure what I did, but it looks like an extra screw is missing (not part of the front panel assembly bracket). I ordered replacement screws and will pick up a micrometer to make sure I put the right parts in the right place. Embarrassed with this one! Thanks for the help.
