I bought a broken iPhone 5c please help

so i bought a used/ broken iphone 5c from my friend he said that the last time he had it he dropped it and it turn off and now it does not turn on or even charge. so i bought it off him and he said it will just need a screen replacement which i did, i bought a new screen off amazon, fitted it and now i pluged it in and tryed to power it on still nothing a black screen not even a vibrate when charging/ so i was wondering what should i replace next the battery or something. i can post pictures if needed

ok guys i need help i just replaced the screen and the battery on my iphone 5c and i held down the power button and it just was stuck at the apple logo so i connected it my computer and iTunes opened and said there is something wrong with your iPhone so i clicked restore and update, it downloaded the update and started. it first says extracting software, then waiting for iPhone , and then my iPhone restarts to the apple logo and i see a loading circle at the bottom of the screen, but frozen and iTunes is stuck at waiting for iPhone and thats it// it does nothing after that just stays frozen , so i restart the iphone it says iphone could not be restored (4013),what should i do

Oh ok thanks guys I will get a new a battery but how would I check if it is the ic(u2)

@connorw try a new battery first. If it still does not come on then you can dig deeper on the board level. For now, I'd focus on a new battery, a new lighting port adapter and make sure that all the cables are properly connected. You also should try to see if it comes on with the old display assembly, to rule the new one out as a cause for this.

Hey guys, the iPhone 5c does have problems with microfractures to the logic board because of the weaker plastic housing (flexing). When these phones get dropped repeatedly over time, all kinds of problems can occur.

So perhaps it is a "simple" solution like U2 or something else but my concern would be "what's next ?".

Assuming the OP is in the USA or NA, I don't believe this device is economically worth repairing considering the "what's next" possibility. Just my humble opinion.

This will be a board fault. With no power whatsoever on the 5c the culprit is more than likely the switching IC (U2) as this switches between mains and battery

I wouldn't go to board fault yet. I've had cracked screens short the board from starting.
