CAYDEN Galaxy clarify for us what model your iPod is and what you have tried to connect it to iTunes? Have you tried a DFU? Different cable? Different computer? The more information you give us, the greater the chance of getting a valid answer.

@skimmilk05 not sure what you are implying with this "this question is out of reach for most iFixers" The Question may be incomplete but it is entirely possible that it is hardware related. Do not be so quick to judge and vote for a removal. Try to clarify what issues the OP really has. You must have felt that it is hardware related, otherwise why would you post an answer. I opt for now to leave the question and ask for clarification. @benjamen50 @pccheese @xinferno zakk @theraptor

iFixit is a hardware repair forum, and thus this question is out of reach for most iFixers, but I'll try to help you as much as I can.

I'm assuming that you've already connected the device to a computer with iTunes, but have had no good result.

On the hardware side, I would start by using the iPod Touch 4th Generation Battery Replacement guide (assuming that this is your model) to disconnect the battery and reconnect it, though I doubt this will fix the issue. This is an extreme step, and is a VERY difficult procedure.

If you'd rather not disconnect the battery, the only other solution would be to take it to Apple and have them use their custom tools to decrypt and unlock the device.

It isn't toooo difficult. And this is a repair related post. Just because it isn't physical damage doesn't mean it doesn't need repair or fixing. And maybe it is physical damage anyway.

@pccheese thanks for clarifying; I've never done much repair with iPod, so I'm going strictly from the instructions that I see on the repair page.

@skimmilk05 why are you recommending the guide for the 4th gen iPod Touch? The OP does not make any mention of what model he is inquiring about.
