Headphone is working on one side only

I've just changed the headphone jack, but nothing has changed.

I've already tried several headphones, nothing happened. Any idea of what should i do ?

I've researched some places, there might be a channel problem, but how to solve ?

Thanks a lot !

Well there are two different ways to fix this. One is a "ghetto"way and another is a replacement. First way, the "ghetto" way is to slightly pull up your headphone out of the socket while turning it counter-clock wise to receive sound in both sides of your heads phones. The second was is to buy a new headphone jack audio jack ribbon for your ipod. It cost about only 5-6 bucks on ebay. Bewarned, it also changes your hold switch because they are connected. It's a very easy repair. it should not take you more than 10 minutes.

Hi,

if you use the dock connector for play back and there is also only one side working it seems to be a problem with the logic board.

Hi,

as he already changed the headphone jack

"I've just changed the headphone jack, but nothing has changed."

that doesn't seem to be the problem, so it might be the logic board. And to test this he should try to play back via the dock connector........

"if you use the dock connector for play back and there is also only one side working it seems to be a problem with te logic board." This is true, but he is talking about the headphones. This is dealing mainly with the audio/hold headphone jack. What your saying is a completely different story. I do understand where your are coming from.

hi!! I have the same problem, I can only hear on one side of the headphone. in fact, i have two headphones, and the problem exists in both of them. so, in my opinion, there's a technical problem with 5th generation ipods.

Hi Lena,

i`ve tested my ipod at a dock system and it worked, clear stereo sound, both sides playing. this means that the problem was not with the logic board. I`ve bought another headphone jack, changed again, and everything is fine now.
