Will the 2010 15" MBP HiRes Display Work With the Mid 2009

I Know the entire mid 2010 MBP display is not compatiable with the Mid 2009 15" MBP for a fact, just because it has different connectors/moduels when it comes to bluetooth/airport/iSight.

But i think its possible to replace the mid 2009 (1440 x 900) TFT LCD display with the one use in the HI-Res mid 2010 MBP (1680 x 1050). I think it is simply just a higher res TFT LCD. I mean it might be a pain to removed the glass from the display assemble, but I think you can install a LCD panel with a higher resolution such as the one used in the mid 2010 Hi-res model.

Can anyone tell me if this is possible? I know you can get the LCD panel but will it be compatible? will the graphic processor handle it?

Will the mid 2009 MBP recognized the higher resolution LCD display panel?

Yes it is- however iFixit doesn't seem to carry the Hi-Res model, but looking at the parts pages you can see that the same LCDs work for all 15" unibody models.

You can order the the HIRes LCD's from ebay and such, just make sure its resolution is 1680 x 1050 and that its for the macbook pro mid 2010.

Still I want to know if the mid 2009 MBP unit will accept the the higher resolution LCD?
