Should I fix my phone even though it has severe heat damage?

I dropped my in toilet and i tried the 24 hr bag and it didnt turn on so i took to a repair shop down the street from me. After hours of working on it, the owner told me it was dead. So i brought it my friend who fixes phones but i didnt know when i took to the other guy. He said that the guy at the repair shop completely destroyed my iphone from heat damage. He took out my screws and lcd covers, killed my motherbroad and my sim card was melted into my phone. He said could try to fix my phone but it would be very time consuming and expensive so i would be better buying a new one. I just to atleast atempt to fix it. Any tips on where to start? I have absouletly no experience in phone repair.

Threaten to sue the repair guy, he will give you your money back then.

Yep because the sim card being melted into the phone looks like deliberate damage.

Any technician that has decency would at least remove the sim card as you can tell it's in there straight away once you lift up the screen.

Honestly, if the sim card has melted into the phone you may just be better off replacing it. However, if you or your friend want to try to repair it then I suggest watching some videos by iPad Rehab on Youtube and getting a feel for how water damage repairs are done.

Here is a great video about water damage repair from iPad Rehab: Youtube Video

@reesey97 sounds like you went from bad to horrible with your phone.. What you want to do, is to post some images of what you are really dealing with. We can imagine, but it would be better to really see what you got. Post some images of the damaged phone with your question. Use this guide for that. It will allow us to see what you see. Contact this user @refectio who has specialized in water damage and micros soldering repair and see what he thinks after you post some images. It's one thing to watch youtube videos, it's another to actually do some repairs. It maybe to late for your phone, but there is always hope.
